Integrating multiple methodologies is crucial in contemporary management research to elevate research quality and improve the chances of publication in prestigious international journals. The ISB PhD Seminar: Multi-Method Approach in Management Research – Experimental Design and Text Analysis will focus on two essential research methods: experimental design and text analysis. This event aims to equip participants with a broader range of methodological skills and the ability to apply these techniques effectively in their research projects.
Seminar Overview
Part 1: Experimental Design
This session will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of experimental design, covering key elements for conducting experimental research in marketing, organizational behavior, and behavioral economics. The session will emphasize the distinction between causality and correlation, variable manipulation, randomization, and the different types of between-subject and within-subject designs. Additionally, it will cover internal and external validity, offering essential insights for designing robust experimental studies.
Part 2: Text Analysis
As social media platforms and online reviews continue to proliferate, text data has emerged as a valuable resource for researchers, offering rich insights into various phenomena. Rather than relying solely on qualitative methods to analyze unstructured text, researchers are increasingly turning to quantitative approaches, aided by AI-driven tools for data analysis. This session will explore techniques for extracting, gathering, and statistically analyzing large volumes of unstructured text data, opening new avenues for research.
