The program includes 5 levels of Academic English (EAP) and 24 subjects, of which 12 subjects in phase 1 are in the basic knowledge and 12 specialized subjects in phase 2 to help students have a deep understanding of the corporate future.

The Bachelor of Applied Data Science is part of the “4 years, 2 degrees” program plan implemented by Western Sydney University, Vietnam. This field of study excels in both research and collaboration. INTAKE

Three annual intakes: January, May, and September

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT

  • Meet the minimum entry requirements based on high school academic performance (GPA of 8.0 or higher); OR
  • Meet the minimum entry requirements based on the results of the National High School Graduation Examination (as per program regulations); OR
  • Gain admission to the formal undergraduate programs of universities approved by Western Sydney University, Vietnam; OR
  • Meet the minimum entry requirements based on the results of competency assessment exams conducted by universities recognized by Western Sydney University, Vietnam (as per program regulations); OR
  • Transfer from domestic or international universities (subject to individual case evaluation).

ENGLISH REQUIREMENT

  • Possess an internationally recognized English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (with no band score below 6.0); OR

  • Meet the required score on the program’s English Placement Test, achieving a minimum of 60/80 on the Internet-based Placement Test (iPT) and 80+ on the supplementary Paper-based Placement Test (PPT); OR

  • Get 60% of the placement test organized by Western Sydney and ISB.

  • Fees for English Academic Program is not included in the tuition fee above
  • Tuition fee is paid according to the number of enrolled courses and need to be completed before each semester starts
  • Tuition fee can be adjusted to no more than 10% each year.
  • Students register from 2 to 4 courses per semester
  • Each year has 3 semesters, divided into 3 payments per year, in April, September, December

SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship program is always maintained which can be seen as a support for new students at the beginning of their journey at Western Sydney Vietnam

TO FRESHMEN:

  • Chancellor’s scholarship – 75% scholarship

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 8.5+ (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score of 115+ (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score of 85+ (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA of 9.0 or higher are eligible.

  • Vice Chancellor’s scholarship – 50% scholarship

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 8.0 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 110-114 (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score between 79-84 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA of 8.5 or higher are eligible.

OR

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 8.5+ (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score of 115+ (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score of 85+ (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA between 8.0 and 8.9 are eligible.

  • Dean’s Scholarship – 40% scholarship

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.5 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 102-109 (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score between 73-78 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA of 8.5 or higher are eligible.

OR

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 8.0 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 110-114 (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score between 79-84 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA between 8.0 and 8.4 are eligible.

  • Vice Dean’s Scholarship – 30% scholarship

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 94-101 (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score between 65-72 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA of 8.5 or higher are eligible.

OR

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.5 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 102-109 (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score between 73-78 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA between 8.0 and 8.4 are eligible.

  • Merit Scholarship – 20% scholarship

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 82-93 (Writing: 21, Speaking: 18, Reading: 13, and Listening: 13) or a PTE score between 58-64 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA of 8.5 or higher are eligible.

OR

Students with an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 (with no component below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score between 94-101 (Writing: 24, Speaking: 18, Reading: 18, and Listening: 18) or a PTE score between 65-72 (Communicative Skills: 50+) or equivalent, AND a high school GPA between 8.0 and 8.4 are eligible.

TO JUNIOR AND SENIOR:

Scholarship evaluation timeline:

  • Year 2: After students have completed their first 8 subjects
  • Year 3: After students have completed the next 8 subjects

Eligibility criteria: 

  • Must be enrolled in the Western Sydney Bachelor’s degree program

  • Must have completed at least 8 subjects within a maximum of 3 consecutive semesters

  • Must achieve a GPA of 80.0 or above for the 8 evaluated subjects

  • Must obtain a PASS or higher (on a 100-point scale) for all other subjects within the scholarship evaluation year

  • Must not violate any university rules or regulations

  • Note: The scholarship policy is valid from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025

CareerHub VN is a platform that organizes career counseling activities, skill development, and provides recruitment information to expand job opportunities for students. The project also regularly hosts workshops and talk shows to support students in shaping their future careers, while helping them better understand their strengths and values, so they can confidently impress potential employers.
