Dr. Ba-Linh Tran studies the digital and political economy of Vietnam, looking at open innovation ecosystems, business digitalisation and its impact on labour, and the changing cultural and social capital of successful entrepreneurs. He is also interested in how loose orgnisations, like early-stage startups, could formulate and execute long-term visions. Dr. Ba-Linh holds a PhD from the University of Bath in the UK; his thesis was on how universities, being loose organisations, define, strategise, and enact the often vague function of internationalisation. Apart from academic research, Dr. Ba-Linh consults for domestic and foreign higher education institutions on issues around performance evaluation, programme design, technology transfer and research translation, and recruitment.
